Basel

Yes, after I came back from Bern, the next day I woke up early again and went to Basel with my host father, Patrik. I was tired but I still wanted to go to Basel. I'm kind of stubborn though I think.

When we arrived at Basel, we decided to walk from train station to the old town since it was still early and the weather was good for a walk. My first impression of Basel was elegant. Why would I say so? I will reveal the answer bit by bit in this post.

We walked through the old town. Shops and stores were not yet opened, not much poeple were walking on the street, that's why the streets were quiet. The first place we went was Basler Münster, this cathedral of Basel is the most famous landmark of Basel. No buildings can steal the eyes of the tourists other than Basel Cathedral.

This is definitely not only stunning

I am still amazed by its architecture

What if I have a time machine? I will go back to the time when this cathedral's golden time and see what happened

Stories of Jesus were painted on these colourful windows. Aren't they beautiful?

Outside of the cathedral
The twin towers made me think of Malaysia. But these are already lived for centuries.

The cathedral is opened for everyone at the certain time. If you are not afriad of height and want to have a perfect view of Basel city, you must take your chance and go up to the top of the towers. I did go up there, the strairs are normal at the beginning where I was not yet going up the tower. But the stairs are so narrow when I was going up there. It's not that I'm joking, I don't want to hurt anyone's feeling, not everyone can be able to go up, not the dramatically oversized one.

How wonderful!

It's somewhere at the Münsterplatz. Münsterplatz is a spacious place right outside of the cathedral where concerts and events will be hold. There is a school at this Münsterplatz, this school is the second oldest school in Switzerland and it was founded on the year of 1589. I'm sorry, I didn't take picture of this school so I couldn't show you here. But if you're here, don't forget to pay a visit.

I always appreciate the things which are simple but beautiful, something just like this could capture my eyes.

The river of Basel is called Rhine. After Münsterplatz, we took the staircase down to the place where people can take a ferry across the Rhine. Should I say if you haven't take a ferry to go across the Rhine, then you aren't consider as you have been to Basel? I really should say. The ferries move without any engine or motor, all by the natural force by the Rhine.

That's the ferry. At the opposite is the cathedral.

When I walked down the street, I found this. The house which embraced by a tree. Schön

When we walked in the middle of the old town, this red building was shining its red at everyone passing by. This is Rathaus Basel, the city hall of Basel where Basel government and parliament are placed. In front of Rathaus, there is Marktplatz which foods and goods were sold.

What's my problem when I write blog post about something happened 2 months ago? I don't remember the name of the place but I remembered what happened.
I asked Patrik if I can have my wedding inside this church (I saw a wedding), he answered me, yes I can if I have the money to rent the church. And I reliased I'm not a christian so it was just a question of curiosty.

This is adorable

Der Basel SBB Bahnhof, a place where I wasn't sure if I should take the train, just because it was express train all to the way to Italy. 2 minutes before the train left, I got onto the train and didn't care where it was going. I quickly asked the passengers if the train was going to Olten and luckily it was. So I got the right train. I was like 'Phewwwwwwww' hahahahaha. Because Patrik went back earlier to Aarau, so I was alone on the way back. NO worries, Switzerland is safe.

Thanks for reading!
