Erste grillieren - 8 April 2017

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, it's spring holiday!

My holiday started as a normal weekend, woke up at 8.30 a.m. and had breakfast with the family and did whatever I want to. I knew I was going to do a hiking tour with other family but their arrival still surprised me. I thought I was not going to be nervous since the children in the family are younger than me. But being a shy girl, my expection of myself obviously was broke by myself. I was so nervous to speak German, you have no idea how nervous was I. So, the father of this family I met is my host father's high school friend (what a friendship goal here). The mother is my host mother's sibling. To be honest, I can't really remember anymore, it's been a long time. This family has 3 children, they're all Jungs (boys). Believe me, I don't remember their name. No doubt, the youngest boy is the cutest!

We went up to a mountain near Küttigen which took us about 1 hour to reach the top. When we're hiking up, what made me smile all the time was the youngest boy. I'm not sure how old is he but he started to learn English not long time ago. When I couldn't find the word in German and swtiched to English, he would listen carefully and tried to understand what was I talking. He was just like me when I tried to understand German. Oh god,I felt him! The way he held his parents' hand and walked in between them was absolutely adorable! That reminded me of my childhood, when I used to hold my parents' hand. The way this little boy tried to speak English with me made me want to ruffle his hair and pinch his chubby face. He was so cute!

Put on the fire was the first thing we did when we reached the top. Pascal (my host brother) is so good at putting on fire. So, I did learn something from him.

The village over there is Erlinsbach, the village just next to Küttigen

That area with buildings is Aarau, the city I live.

Okay, this sausage didn't look good I know. But it tasted so good, TRUST ME! We had Rüeblisalat (Carrot salad) too because that's Pascal's favourite.

I think the little boy was sitting beside his dad. I just like this picture.

Pascal and the first boy. The perfect chocolate-banana were in progress!

That time was end of Winter. Trees were still brown.

How can I not falling in love?

It was the first time I had BBQ in Switzerland. Of course, it was really different with what I had done in Malaysia. In Malaysia, chicken wings are the must-have food if there is a BBQ, seafood are popular too, and the meats are always well seasoned. In Switzerland, sausages are really good, no one will forget to bring chips, everything is about the key words 'schnell und einfach' (fast and easy). Don't ask me which type of BBQ I prefer, I love both! Personally, I think the people I spend time with is much more important.

It was a good evening, I appreciate it.

Thanks for reading :)
